1-2-3 Imagine!

On Saturday we took Colin to see Elmo live in concert. The name of the show was 1-2-3 Imagine, and taught the kids how to use their imagination to take them different places throughout the world. Colin had a good time, but didn't seem into any of the parts that didn't involve Elmo. Here are a few pictures from our very first Elmo concert.

Ice Cream and Good Friends!

A few weeks ago one of our Mommy friends, Johanna, introduced us to a new ice cream place in Arlington that serves free "baby cones" to little ones, and has some really yummy ice cream too!

Here are some pictures of Johanna and her sweet girls, twins Camden and Grayden, and Colin chowing down on some ice cream. Of course, my little guy prefers just the cone, so he took his cone, took one lick of the ice cream and turned it upside down until the ice cream fell off, then procceded to eat the cone iteslf.

Colin has known these two most of his life, and Grayden can even say Colin's name, which she does everytime she sees him. They are the best toy sharers, so my sensitive little guy really likes to play with both of them too. It's nice that he (and I) have such good friends, we are really blessed to have such a great group of mommies and babies to play with.

Just a Little Hiccup

So Friday night I ended up heading back to Labor and Delivery at the hospital. Here's what happened:

My brother was in town staying with us, in preparation for the baby shower the next day. Brad agreed to stay home with Colin so Kenneth and I could go see a movie. As the movie began, I started having contractions. I figured they were just Braxton Hicks contractions, which tend to go away if you rest and drink water. So I drank almost a liter of water in a little over an hour and they weren't going away, they were getting worse. I started timing them and they went from 8 minutes apart to 3. At that point I told Kenneth we'd need to leave. To make matters worse, there was a pretty bad storm going on outside. On the way home, I called my doctor and was told to go to L&D. So we got home, I woke up Brad and called his parents to come sit with Colin. We got to L&D at 10:45 that evening, by then they were still 2 to 3 minutes apart. Luckily my cervix was still closed, I had no dialation. I was given a shot to make them stop, and thankfully it worked the first time. It's not a fun shot to get! So back home we headed, back in bed by 2:oo a.m.

As for hiccups, our little man is just as bad as his big brother was and gets the hiccups 3 or 4 times a day, lasting at least 10 minutes each time. While I was in L&D Friday night, they had me hooked up to a monitor to register Lucas' heart beat. While I was hooked up, he got a case of the hiccups and you could actually HEAR each hiccup on the monitor. It was really cute.

The Shirt Says it All

In case you can't read it, it says "Brad's Baby" on it. I went to a luncheon one day put on by a local mom's group, where you got to pick 2 shirts to take home. It just so happened they had this maternity shirt, I had to have it! I get a ton of compliments on it every time I wear it!

30 Week Checkup

I went to the doctor yesterday and my blood pressure is still doing well, I'm gaining more weight than I'd like, but the doctor says I'm fine. I'm definitely gaining more weight with Lucas than I did with Colin!

Lucas' heartbeat was a steady 152 and my belly is measuring 35 weeks (5 weeks ahead!), which just means, THIS KID IS BIG! LOL

Two weeks ago my doctor told me to try Prilosec, and OH MY GOSH, I haven't had to take a single Tums or Maloxx since! Bless him :) I was at my daily maximum dose of both medications prior to the Prilosec.

My next appointment is on the 13th for a sonogram and the 17th for my doctor. We're down to just 9 weeks to go! I can't wait to meet this "little" guy!

Momma Update

I'm tired. I'm tired of being tired, I'm tired of being hot (100 degrees and it isn't even July yet?!), and mostly I'm tired of people commenting on how big I am, that I "must be having twins."

Just what every pregnant woman wants to hear, especially when she has 2 months to go.

Colin Update!

So sorry for the long wait time between posts, but I've been a little preoccupied recently. I thought I'd take this opportunity to post just a few pictures.

Some of you may have seemed to notice that I haven't posted a monthly newsletter in 2 months either. I've decided to start making them "Quarterly Newsletters," so I'll be posting one every 3 months, starting this month, which will include months 17-19.

So, for now, a bunch of cute photos will have to suffice :)

Field Trip: Fort Worth Zoo

With the beautiful weather we had on Sunday Brad and I made the last minute decision to take Colin for his first trip to the zoo. One of the few animals he can recognize, point out and say is "Lion." So we knew we had to see the lion before we left. Of course, the lion was his favorite. When we got there, he pointed right to him and and started saying "Li, Li" (his word for lion). Then we got a real special treat, the lion roared for us, and almost right in front of us!

Overall Colin did really well, he wanted to walk a lot, which slowed us down a bit, but like Brad said, the day was all about him so it didn't matter how fast we went. I'll let the pictures tell you the rest of the story:
