Field Trip: Fort Worth Zoo

With the beautiful weather we had on Sunday Brad and I made the last minute decision to take Colin for his first trip to the zoo. One of the few animals he can recognize, point out and say is "Lion." So we knew we had to see the lion before we left. Of course, the lion was his favorite. When we got there, he pointed right to him and and started saying "Li, Li" (his word for lion). Then we got a real special treat, the lion roared for us, and almost right in front of us!

Overall Colin did really well, he wanted to walk a lot, which slowed us down a bit, but like Brad said, the day was all about him so it didn't matter how fast we went. I'll let the pictures tell you the rest of the story:

First picture of the day; Zebra!; Posing with Momma

Elephants!; "Li, Li!"; Lady Lions

With Daddy in the bird area; Checking out a big bird; Walking with Dadda!

Colin's new stroller, and his silly face; With Daddy at the Parrots; One of his favorite things about the zoo was all the water features, lots of water falls!

Precious Moment

I had to share this. I was putting Colin down for his morning nap just a few minutes ago, I was cradling and rocking him and sang him our normal four sleepy time songs. After each song I sang he smiled up at me, and started clapping until I started singing again. How cute is my little man?

Monthly Newsletter: Month Fifteen

Dear Colin,

A few short days ago you turned fifteen months old. I say short, because these days seem to be flying by. You are growing up so quickly right in front of us and I just want to remember every piece of every day I have with you.

This month, I'm going to let the pictures tell the story.

You and Henry are pretty good friends now. And that cool shirt is from Uncle Kenny.

We played outside, A LOT this month, the weather was beautiful!

Play, Play, Play! You are in constant motion!

You got really sick (ran a temp of 104.5!) last week, this is you while you were sick, watching Sesame Street one morning with your Elmo doll.

A mini slideshow: You love to put things on and off, pull things in and out, and just learn how stuff works in general. Here you just wanted to put the lens cap on the camera!

Always smiling!

More play, play, play!

No more pictures Momma! Bye Bye!

This is one of the many points in our lives together when I will be learning from you. This time I've learned I need to stop worrying about the future and simply enjoy what you're giving us now. So what if you can't walk yet, you can put a diaper on your head and laugh about it.

Love,
Momma
